The symbolism of the volcano is inseparable from that of the mountain and lava. The volcano is associated with the realm of the gods and with telluric forces. It is an enormous power , terribly dangerous and destructive. The inner fire of magma, when it rises as lava, is synonymous with impetuous and unpredictable fury. The volcano is a force of nature ; this vital force is within each of us and drives us to accomplish great things. It is a fire that we must preserve and nurture in order to surpass ourselves.

Embroidery is believed to have originated in the East and the Middle East. Early humans quickly discovered that the stitches used to join animal hides together could also be used to embellish clothing.

Intricately embroidered garments have always been a mark of wealth and status in many cultures, including ancient Persia, India, China, Japan, Byzantium, and Europe. Traditional folk techniques have been passed down through generations in cultures as diverse as northern Vietnam, Mexico, and Eastern Europe. Today, most contemporary embroidery is stitched using an embroidery machine. Misericordia uses embroidery to give its garments a unique and artistic look.

All our embroidered sweatshirts are made in our own workshop in Lima. Thousands of stitches are required to achieve such realistic embroidery and impeccable finishing.
